The purpose of this
corporation shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable
and educational; To preserve and strengthen comradeship among its
members; To assist worthy comrades; To perpetuate the memory and
history of our dead and to assist their widows and orphans; To
maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of
America and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; To foster true
patriotism; To maintain and extend the institutions of American
Freedom and to preserve and defend the United States from all her
enemies, whomsoever.
There is a common bond that exists between those who
have shared the military experience and that bond is even greater
among those in combat. There is a shared sense of duty and common
belief in a cause higher than oneself. Today's veterans choose to
serve and by doing so, assume all risk associated with preserving
freedom at home and abroad. VFW members understand the true essence
of America and the ideals of democracy for all. There is a sign in
our Post "Don't mind what it cost to be a member, remember what it
cost to be eligible".
